The School of Mines and Technology is located at 501 East St. Joseph Street. The campus can be accessed from I-90 or U.S. 16 by going downtown Rapid City and catching either of the one-way streets, St. Joseph Street or Main Street. Take St. Joseph Street to the east, crossing East North Street (Post Office on left) and continue approximately one mile to the School of Mines Campus (on the right). Park either in the main parking lot (Surbeck Lane) and follow the dinosaur tracks across campus to the O'harra Building on immediately in front of the Museum's O'Harra Building (Technology Court). From U.S. 79 going north, take St. Patrick Street to the left (west) until you cross the railroad tracks and turn right onto East St. Joseph. The School of Mines will be on your left in approximately 1 mile. From U.S. 79 going south, turn right onto East St. Partick Street until you cross the railroad tracks and turn right onto East St. Joseph. The School of Mines will be on your left in approximately 1 mile.

The Museum of Geology is located on the third floor of the O'Harra Building. From the Surbeck parking lot (park in the visitors area designated by orange curb paint and visitors signs) walk to the front of the McLaury Building (with the white columns) and follow the dinosaur tracks toward the flag pole and O'Harra Building beyond. Driving to the Museum take University Loop onto campus and take the second road to the right (Technology Court) toward the flag pole to the O'Harra Building and park directly in front in the visitors parking designated by orange painted curbing and visitors parking signs. The Museum of Geology is located on the third floor of the O'Harra Building accessed by walking up the front steps or ramp to the main floor (second floor) and thence up the steps directly ahead (or taking the elevator) up to the Museum.

Look for the exhibits are located in the O'Harra Building, third floor.
