Outreach and Service
The CAMP organization benefits the campus and the community in a variety of ways:
GEAR Up
The Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduates Program (GEAR Up) is a nationwide program that began in 1999 "To increase the number of American Indian students that achieve success in higher education through a rigorous, pre-college enrichment program that is acceleration based and comprehensive by design."
Women in Leadership
CAMP supports female students who wish to students attended the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders in Washington D.C. This program focuses on supporting college women's leadership and career development.

United Way Day of Caring
During the Day of Caring, United Way participants, as well as volunteers from the community will go out into the community to perform service projects such as painting buildings, or landscaping for nonprofit organizations and residents. It's away to give back.

CAMP Kickoff
The CAMP kickoff is an event that provides information on the CAMP program and its projects. CAMP teams show demos and the event serves as an outreach and recruiting opportunity. The Kickoff is held the first week of September every year.
Pumpkin Chunkin
CAMP teams build pumpkin catapults for the Pumpkin Festival. The event is organized by the Rapid City Downtown Association and serves as a community-wide harvest celebration.

Wharton 5k/10k Challenge Run
The Wharton Challenge takes place during SDSM&T Homecoming week. There is a 5k and 10k. Participants dress up and run from Founders Park to campus. Brave 10kers run up M Hill and on to campus!

Science Night at Corral Elementary
Young kids learn just how exciting and interesting science can be at the Corral Elementary School Science Night.
Mall Expo
The CAMP Mall Expo has had great success. Kids and parents are amazed by the projects that the CAMP students work with. The Mall expo provides an opportunity for CAMP teams to show their projects to the citizens of Rapid City.
Martin Luther King Food Drive
CAMP members along with students from other South Dakota Mines student organizations worked together to organize a food drive during the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.
E-Week
The events that take place during Engineering Week are open to students and the community and celebrate the contributions made by engineers to society.
School Visits
CAMP members visit local schools to give demos on their projects, and share their love of science and engineering with young students in the community.
Counts Car Show
The Counts of the Cobblestone Car Club, Inc. is a social club dedicated to a simple slogan, "Fun with Cars." Formed in 1957, the club quickly grew from five to eleven members. The club now has almost 60 active members.
