How do I register for Next-Generation ACCUPLACER?

  • Contact the Testing Advisor ( or call (605)-394-2428 to make an appointment to take Next-Generation ACCUPLACER.

TEST Location Options?

  • Next-Generation ACCUPLACER at a test site – For your convenience, you are allowed to test at any of the SDBOR (South Dakota Board of Regents schools). Please inform me if you intend to test at any one of the SDBOR schools (Black Hills State University, Dakota State University, Northern State University, South Dakota State University and the University of South Dakota) and it will be my pleasure to get you connected with the proper test administrator.  

  • Next-Generation ACCUPLACER with South Dakota Mines (in-person or through Zoom) - You can complete the Next-Generation ACCUPLACER testing either in-person or through Zoom with the South Dakota Mines Tutoring and Testing Coordinator.  For students taking this exam for the first time for South Dakota Mines admissions/placement purposes, there is no charge.

  • Next-Generation ACCUPLACER with an outside proctor – For these exams, you can find a qualified proctor at your high school, your community library or a college or university testing center. Our staff can send you the necessary forms to start the process of setting the proctor up in our system.

  • Next-Generation ACCUPLACER at home – You can complete the Next-Generation ACCUPLACER testing on your own at home through the use of an online proctoring system. The online proctoring system is available 24/7 and the cost is $25. Technical requirements are available here.

  • Please let us know which testing option you decide to utilize. If you have any questions or will not be able to complete the testing, please contact our office.
