Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS)

Facility Overview

Liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) enables the identification and quantification non-volatile organic compounds at trace concentrations from complex mixtures. The technique pairs separation of compounds using liquid chromatography with sample identification and quantification via mass spectrometry. LC-MS can be utilized for a wide variety of applications across many disciplines including biology, environmental science, and geology. The EMES operates a Shimadzu LCMS-2020 within the Shimadzu Environmental Research Laboratory. For more information about the LC-MS and its capabilities please contact EMES staff.
